"my" company may convey 2 messages:

1) u r very happy and fell extremelly connected with the company that you work for;

2) u want to sound secure and highly confident about yourself to the point of felling as if u "owe" the company...

the problem with "my" is that u may sound cocky and conceited. u may not transmit a good impression of yourself to other people.

summing up, i think "my" will mean something good or bad, depending on the way u present yourself and behave during the conversation.

this is only a stupid opinion from a stupid student...

Sure! We are used to saying "my" here.

And, according to what I have read on this site, I think the connotation is just the same in North America.

It isn't there. However, the Google toolbar has a spellcheck function. Try it. You'll like it.
