    Default pray

    Hello everyone
I'd like to ask about the meaning of the word 'pray' in the following context.

"I really wished I believed in God right now," Gallaher said.
Vega finished putting his GD4 together and stowed it under his bunk. "Why?"
"So I could pray to somebody that Boyle's talking out of his arse."

As I understand, the second part of the sentence means that Boyle's saying stupid things. But the meaning of the first part is somewhat unclear to me.

Basically, so that he can ask God to confirm that Boyle is saying stupid things.
