Default What's the meaning of 'a pet idea'?

Can anyone tell me what 'a pet idea' means in the following context?

A manager must deal with difficulties in a reasonable way and should not be seduced by the boss's pet idea.

Thank you!

A "pet" idea is a favorite idea, or something that the boss is partial to.
