Default opposite of guys?

I know in informal speech, we say "guys" to men. I wonder what we say to women. In brief, I want to know what is the opposite of "guys".

"guys and gals" for some situations, Gary, but you have to be careful with the use.

Often 'guys' is used for a group of men and women, usually in casual, and relatively close-knit groups.
