Default pipe

Hi there,

Is it correct to say like this?

The sewage pipe exploded last night. My building smelled awful.

Thanks

I suppose that there's an outside chance, a miniscule chance of a sewer pipe exploding because of sewer gas, but I'm almost certain that the meaning you want has been expressed by David L.
