Default What does the "the correspondence back and forth" mean here?

Hello Eeveryone,

First, Happy New Year To You All!!

What does the "the correspondenc back and forth" mean in the following paragraph?

It is funny the correspondence back and forth between thewest coast and Tokyo that the Japanese in Tokyo don't believe that Americansshould be riding in Pick up trucks as passenger vehicles and refuses to accommodate some
design changes.
And what is the relationship between "funny" and "the correspondence back and forth"?It seems to me that there is no relationship between them?
Regards
SKY

It is a peculiar sentence. Are you sure you have copied it exactly, including the punctuation and spacing?
