dear teachers, please explain, i don't have the context of this , but it might have some figurative uses whish you can provide for me. atfer some bad occurrence he'll breathe a lot easier;

Hey Lalda,

What's cookin'?

It means "he'll be relieved, he'll be less tense, he'll be more relaxed after some bad thing is over and done with.
