    May I know the meaning "picks and pans" which is used in stocks analysis oftenly.

    A "pick" is something that is recommended; the person discussing it would choose it.

    A "pan" is something that is discouraged or described as not worthwhile.

    Thanks a lot. But I'm curious to know why the "pans" means "discouragement"? Sometime people says something pan out well. Please explain it at your convenient time.
