I'm still doing my novel. The chapter I'm on now shows that I have 5% passive. I've gone over and over it and can't find it.

It is first person and mostly passed tense. Near the end it switches to present tense.

What are some of the worst passive words?

I am not sure you can quantify passive words in this way!

You say you are going over a chapter and "have 5% passive". Is this using a grammar checker? If so, usually it shows you the problem. Also, it is possible that you need the passive in the chapter in some situations.

Thans Anglika. I suppose that is why I couldn't find them.
I did use a lot of words such as "had finally come", "we were to leave", we were trying.

Could those be passive phrases?
