hi my name is darwin, and i bn living n the united states for 12 months now, and i feel that my conprehention of the lenguage has improved but, i am really frustated because, i still have dificulties, at the time of speakin, i dont have enough confidence, so i just need to know how long does it take for and average human, to leatn english well enough to speak whith other people.....

hi darwin, don't be frustrated. the more you think/focus on that self-inflicted emotional factor, the more that the learning will slow down..
confidence can be practiced. try talking to yourself, speak out when your alone, talk to yourself in front of a mirror.. all those helped.. i have tried it when i was still young and it was effective. i do it anywhere, even while walking. but make sure you won't look stupid. =) haha!
talk to yourself silently.. =) otherwise you'll notice people around you laughing. hehehe
then i remembered my professor in psychology when i was in freshman saying that talking to yourself whether in front of the mirror or not, improves a lot of aspect in someone's life..
also, your question about how long a person would learn, it really depends on the person. i always believe that no matter how good the teacher, if the trainee is not really that willing and good, or vice versa, there would be no effect.. =)
just keep practicing.. =)
