The people or people

Hi,

The tagline on my blog Freedom of Science is "Transfer scientific authority to people." Should that be "Transfer scientific authority to the people?" Or even "Transfer the scientific authority to the people."

Yes

"Transfer scientific authority to people."
But does the lower animal kingdom agree that we arrogant dominant species -we humans, we the people - are now sufficiently mature to assume this responsibility? If so, will it be the king of the jungle doing the official hand-over to we homo sapiens?

I think the "lower animal kingdom" does not have any say in this. The transfer is supposed to happen from a deity to humanity. The authority resides with deities not with lower animal kingdom but higher kingdoms.
