Subject and Predicate

Sentences are first divided into two parts, the "naming" part containing the subject (noun and pronoun) and the "telling" or "doing" part containing the verb. This part is called the "Predicate" and the naming part is known as the "Subject".

On that basis, can someone please let me know if I have understood the following questions. Have I got the subject and predicate right, particularly for the punctuated questions "3" and "4"?

1. The book fell of the table. (Subject - The book); Predicate (fell off the table.)
2. This page is missing from my book. (Subject - This page); Predicate (is missing from my book.)
3. "Stop here!" ordered Tom. (Subject - Ordered Tom); Predicate ("Stop here!")
4. "Where is it?" asked Harry. (Subject - Asked Harry); Predicate ("Where is it?")

In 3 & 4, you have included the verb as past of the subkect, not the predicate.

• "Where is it?" asked Harry. Subject (Harry); Predicate (asked, "Where is it?")
