Default make do with x settle for

Are there any slight differences between:
    - We'll have to make do with a coffee
    - We'll have to settle for a coffee?
    Which is more commonly used?
    Thanks

"make do" would imply that you are accepting an alternative to something

"settle for" would imply that you will be satisfied with something.
