Realistically/Frankly/Honestly speaking,
Realistically/Frankly/Honestly speaking, he doesn't stand a chance of getting the job.
Do all of the bolded words fit in the above and mean pretty much the same? Thanks.

Thanks, Amigos4.
Your version sounds very natural, but which one is more used in veryday speech, the base sentence or yours?

Re: Realistically/Frankly/Honestly speaking,
Realistically/Frankly/Honestly speaking (adverbial phrase)
all adverbs, describing HOW one is speaking (participle)
Realististically = taking a real look at everything
frankly = being frank about it
honestly = being honest about it

Angli,
All three sentences are common usage and essentially mean the same thing.
If I had to choose one sentence it would be, 'Realistically speaking, he doesn't stand a chance of getting the job.' 'Honestly' and 'frankly' are adverbs that tend to be a little more opinion-based. 'Realistically' takes into account all of the factors involved in a situation and suggests a less-opinionated outcome.
However, all three sentences are perfectly correct and are considered common usage in North America.
