Hello Unreg,

This is an American format with which I'm not particularly conversant; but I believe the date (at the top) and the complimentary close (at the bottom) begin about halfway between the margins.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong (I hope).

MrPedantic is correct. To add to his answer: the addresses, date, salutation and main body of text all line up with the left-hand margin.

You may indent the first line of each paragraph, but this isn't necessary. There are no special instructions I know of about how much to indent by.
