the infinitive form

i'm very confused these following sentenses:

1.More bus-only lanes are introduced within the next six months and others are on the drawing board. <-- correct?

Compare:More bus-only lanes are TO BE INTRODUCED ........ <--correct too?

2.Are you willing to let your life be controlled by others?
Why the tense is BE CONTROLLED is not TO BE CONTROLLED.

==> the next six months refers to the future, so 'will be' is best. You could also you 'are going to be'.

2. Are you willing to let your life be controlled by others? :D

==> The object of willing to let is a clause, 'your life be controlled by others', and that clause is in the passive voice. Here's the active:

Active: Are you will to let others control your life?

Active Structure
Subject: others
Active verb: control
Object of the verb: your life

Passive Structure
Structural Subject/Semantic Object: your life
Passive verb: be controlled
Semantic Subject: by others

Are you willing to let your life (Semantic Object) be controlled (Passive verb) by others (Semantic Subject)?

Used with certain verbs, the "to" is omitted for an infinitive verb. For example:

Would you go buy an icecream for me?

He helped us build the house.


let is one of those verbs.
