Dear teachers,
Can you explain to me these phrases:
"live off somebody"
"press the charges"
"handle the press"

"live off somebody" is to depend on somebody.
"press charges" is to prosecute someone or to sue a company, which is in simple terms bring someone to the court for a crime he committed against you.
About "handle the press" i'v never heard it before but"handle the pressure" is being able to cope with a difficult situation. but if you are talking about someone famous who is handling the press, you are then saying that the person is able to deal with all the media around him.

"the press" probably refers to the newspapers.
"handle the press" = "successfully answer the kinds of questions newspaper reporters ask".
