could again Are both these sentences correct:
1-Yesterday there was no chance that it might rain.
2-Yesterday it couldn't rain.

Teacher Not really- I'd say 'no chance of rain' for the first and avoid the second, unless nature seemed to be trying to rain and finding it impossible.
