Dear Teachers, Please explain these. 1. It was a good move to bring his striker bowler in [ what does the word '' move'' mean? 2. A Mother of all sth [ this election is the mother of all elections ]. and i've seen this also.that is the mother and father of all sth , does this make any sense?
Lots of thanks
-- It was a good move to bring his striker bowler in -- "Move" in this sentence means "plan" or "action".
--A Mother of all sth [ this election is the mother of all elections ]-- "Mother of all" means the most important or deciding factor of something.
-- that is the mother and father of all sth-- I haven't heard anyone saying this phrase. Maybe the moderators or other members will be able to help.
