Default minimum amount of months

Hi,

When looking for accommodation, I am used to asking about the "the minimum amount of months" that one is supposed to stay in the unit by force of the contract. I want to make sure that I can leave the unit as soon as I want, just in case I don't like it...

Is there a short way of saying "the minimum amount of months"?

Thanks,
JC

Are you talking about renting or leasing an apartment?

month by month lease or rental

open ended lease

30 day notice

These are all terms that you can use to negotiate your lease contract.

What is your shortest term of lease?

Very formally:
How much notice do I have to give if I want to terminate the lease?

Hi,

I have just found the expression "minimal stay" on an advertisement of an apartment on the Internet. Could I simply say "What is the minimal stay, please?" ?

Thanks,
JC
