can u please tell me what does "left-handed feeble switch" means in this context?

Union College, in a survey sponsored by Joe's Garage, just found out that in our town car repairs are up 32%. And the biggest thing breaking is the
left-handed feeble switch." Idon't know. But you can do that.

What is the book/story? It looks like a made-up pseudo-technical term.
