I stumbled upon the word omniknowing yet can't find it in any dictionary. Is it a colloquial synonym for omniscient?
It's a new word to me but since "omni" as a prefix means "all" the two words appear to mean the same.
I'd probably suggest you only use "omniscient".
It's certainly not colloquial - in fact I've never met it. I suppose it might exist as an occasional scholarly use.
If I did meet it, though, I'd assume that the speaker was mixing up 'omniscient' with its "calque" 'all-knowing' -- loan translation: Definition and Much More from Answers.com.
