Default Can we say" showing or displaying increasing importance"?

Hello Everyone,

In my interetation textbook, there is a sentence: ... Today, the traditional Chinese health preservation methods, such as taiji boxing , static qigong breathing and therapeutic massage , are gaining inceasing importance...

I would like to know whether gain in the paragraph can be replaced by display or show as according to the original Chinese , the meaning should be display or show importance! I don't know if such collotation exists in English?

Regards

Sky

The purpose of the word "gain" is mean an "increase," so any word that you use in its place must mean the same thing.
