The following paragraph is selected from the my listening comprehension textbook. Can you tell me something about 'life movement' and some related information?

Today the Surgeon general unveileda pamphelet about AIDS ,calling for sex education in the school in an effort to slow the epidemic . Surgeon General C. Everett Coop has been closely affiliated with the right to life movement and other organizations that oppose sex education at school.

And what does affiliated mean here?

Movement here has a similar meaning to organization or campaign. The "right to life" movement opposes abortion on the grounds that a fertilised egg becomes human at the point of conception.

Affiliated means he is a member of one of these organizations or works with them.

The Christian Life Movement (CLM) was founded in 1985, in Peru. At that time a number of initiatives from members of the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae, now a Society of Apostolic Life, had already begun to bloom.
Christian Life Movement members who participate in Pro-Life have felt a calling to promote the sexual ethic which springs from the faith of the Church and is taught by the Magisterium.
