Question Sentence : Meaning not clear

Hi

Could you please let me know what this means? My friend (girl) said it to me.

Sopunds as if she is saying "I do not see the REAL you, even when I look closely."

Thanks for explaining, but, I don't think she would mean that. The context was that, I was surprizing her by hiding from her and she didn't know that I was at her place, but I saw that she passed by me and she seemed to be looking toward my cubical. Later on I found out from her that see didn't notice me.

Could you please explain a bit further in the ligh of this context? Thanks again.
