Is the usage of commit correct in this context ?
Committed is correctly in agreement.
Atrocities committed during wars are often left unpunished due to lack of evidence.
Is it correct to replace "atrocities" in the above sentence with "attacks". I am making a synonym question for a verbal ability test, and I need a good incorrect option for a multiple choice question. It doesn't need to fit the context, but be grammatically sound.
Help please.
I would say that it is not correct as a synonym, as attacks during a war can be perfectly legitimate and not subject to any punishment. If the others are synonyms or near-synonyms of 'atrocities', then I would say it's fine for the incorrect choice.![]()
