Default correct sentence

I'm not sure which part is wrong. PLS tell me.

Abraham Lincoln became America’s greatest President. Lincoln’s mother died (1)in infancy, and he grew up in a log cabin (2)all by himself. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves (3)by signing the Emancipation Proclamation. On the night of April 14, 1865, Lincoln went to the theater and (4)got shot in the head by an actor called John Wilkes Booth.

1. Lincoln’s mother died (1) in infancy. :(

To die in infancy means, to die when you are a baby. If his mother died when she was a baby, then she wouldn't have been able to give birth to Lincoln. Babies cannot have babies.

1. When Lincoln was in his infancy/was an infant, his mother died.

Also, technically, 'was shot by', not 'got shot by'

4. Lincoln was shot by Booth.
