what is the difference between write down. write up and write out and write up? In the following context, which one is the best answer?

When you have finished your assigned exercise, will you come out and write your answer down ???n the black board.( in this case the exercise is to answer a question in a complete sentence)

Default Re: write down

"Write down" and "write out" have the same basic meaning - to actually inscribe or write on some type of medium, whether it be a piece of paper or a chalkboard.

"Write up" usually implies that a person has committed some sort of infraction and that it will be noted in writing and included in his file or reported to authorities.
