English Question
I recently played the home game of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader. One question stirred up alot of questions. It's 3rd Grade English. True or False "Carrot", "beet" and "potato" are all considered root words? The answer was true, but a couple very much disagree with this. I would like something to show or give them to prove oit correct. Thanks Debbie

Re: English Question
Carrots, beets and potatoes all grow in the ground and are called "root vegetables."
I am not sure why the term "root word" was used, unless it was a "play on words" (a pun)
