Default forward/ reached out one's hand

Please help...

Is this sentence correct.

I stepped forward to get close( or closer) and reached out my hand to say my farewell.

Can I also say

I forwarded my hand ....

and what about this one ...

I reached out my hand to farewell.

Default Re: forward/ reached out one's hand

To forward something means to send it - it cannot be used as a verb in this context.

I stepped forward to get close( or closer)[this is not necessary in the sentence] and reached out my hand to say my farewell.

I reached out my hand in farewell.
