Default time clause

Is this sentence correct:
1-I won't be seeing you in a long time.

"For a long time" is definitely correct. I was just wondering if one could use "in a long time".

That's absurd... but listen.

As I can imagine the situation according to this statement, I see the following picture.

Now you see this person every day and you sure you will be seeing her/him yet for a long time. And it must pass a long time till you won't be seeing her/him.

Got it? Don't worry - I also have a smooth comprehension of what i've said.

Context would help. 8)

I won't be seeing you in a week. (OK, but please note the context)

Pat: See you Friday.
Sam: This Friday?
Pat: No. Friday next week.
Sam: But I'm leaving for Boston tomorrow, so I won't be seeing you in a week. I'll be seeing you in two weeks.
