In China, if someone drives through the traffic light, he will then be stopped by the police to pay the fine if detected. If he disagrees with the convicted and refuses to make the payment, his vehicles will then be prevented from drivng away until payment has been effected. In Chinese such action by the police is called "zhe bei Kouzh le". I would like to know how to say " kouzhu" in English? Regards Sky

Do you mean, 'the driver's car is impounded' ? impound verb [ trans. ] -seize and take legal custody of something, especially a vehicle, goods, or documents because of an infringement of a law or regulation

Also 'towed away' (a less formal way of saying 'impounded'), or 'clamped' (if it's still there, but immobilized). When they were first introduced, wheel-clamps were sometimes referred to as 'Denver boot[s]'; but the name didn't catch on (in Br English, anyway). b
