Hi there,
My friend came to my house. I said I wanted to show them a video tape (DVD). I said, ' I want to broadcast a video tape to you.' Is it correct for an informal situation?
What verb should I use in a formal situation.
Thanks
pete
If you are showing something in your home, then "show" is fine.
"I want to show you this video tape of xxxxxx".
"Broadcast" is used for public radio or television.
Incidentally, it's either a video tape (probably VHS) or a DVD; it can't be both. With either you would either "show" it (as Anglika says) or "play" it.
