Default preferred to.......

Hi

1.I would preferred them to have kicked me out of my house when I was a kid.

2. I preferred them to kick me out of my house when I was a kid.

Maybe I should use the past perfect tense?

Which is correct?

Hi

Why did you use the past perfect in the last one and in others you did not?
