Default is it "all of the time" or "all the time" ?

which way is correct? "My cat sleeps all the time" or "My cat sleeps all of the time"

I'm not a teacher, but as a native speaker, I use both, and hear each of them more or less equally. Although I'd probably use the shorter "all the time" most often.
