Default grammatical mistakes

Could anyone of you have a loot at my answers and write to me if they are grammatically incorrect or irrelevant.Please suggest me better answers.

Q1.What was the first act of the show?
A1.The first act of the show was performed by a girl who stood at the back of a beautiful horse which ran round and round the ring.

Q2.How did they feel about all the acts they saw that day?
A2.They felt that the acts were both interesting and comical.

Q3.In what condition did Peter find his home after many years of absence?
A3.After many years of absence, Peter found his home in a sorry or dreadful state.

Q4.How did his neighbours feel towards him after such a long absence?
A4.His neighbours were unable to recognize him.They asked him who he was and what he wanted when he called his wife and children.

Q5.Why did Madan Eng walk to the window?
A5.Madam Eng walked to the window to find out who was at the window.

Q6.How did the salesman make Madam Eng feel happy?
A6.The salesman made Madam Eng happy by telling her that she has won a prize.

Q7.How did Peter know that the camera was useless?
A7.Peter knew that the camera was useless as his friend had used one such camera.

Q8.Why do you think the young man walked away quickly?
A8.The young man walked away quickly as the truth was revealed before Madam Eng.

Q9.What lesson does the story teach us?
A9.The story makes us aware of present day salesmen who deceive people just to sell their products.
