What sort of tea do you like to have? though "to drink" would be more usual
What type of drug are you taking? but context is needed to be sure the question is the right one.
Are they OK?
Could I say they have the same meaning? They are not completely interchangeable - certainly in the last sentence "sort" and "kind" are not really usable.

If you are asking about medications, you would be more likely to say "What drugs are you taking?" or "What medication are you taking". To ask what the type of drug is implies you need to be sure that there will not be a reaction between two kinds of drug - a fairly common medical problem.
The other interpretation of "What kind of drugs" is that the person being questioned is suspected of taking illegal drugs.
