Default sort, kind and type

Please, teachers...

Could I use these words like this?

What kind of car are you looking for?
What sort of tea do you like to have?
What type of drug are you taking?

Are they OK?
Could I say they have the same meaning?

Thank you very much

What sort of tea do you like to have? though "to drink" would be more usual
What type of drug are you taking? but context is needed to be sure the question is the right one.

Are they OK?
Could I say they have the same meaning? They are not completely interchangeable - certainly in the last sentence "sort" and "kind" are not really usable.

Thank you very much

How'd you say this? Are there different words that would be more "usual" ?
Many thanks, Anglika.

What do you mean?

If you are asking about medications, you would be more likely to say "What drugs are you taking?" or "What medication are you taking". To ask what the type of drug is implies you need to be sure that there will not be a reaction between two kinds of drug - a fairly common medical problem.

The other interpretation of "What kind of drugs" is that the person being questioned is suspected of taking illegal drugs.

Are they OK?

See above. It really does depend on the context of the question.
