Default Help yourself to the chow

I saw the expression "Help yourself to the chow" in a soap (with English subtitles). What is it about?

context: Guy B gets to a place and finds A dating someone...then they have this conversation...

Guy A: Help yourself to the chow.
Guy B: Don’t make it to the mainland too often...
Guy A: So when I do. I like to indulge myself.
Guy B: So you people can just...
Guy A: Come and go?
Guy B: Some of us.

Default Re: Help yourself to the chow

Really needs a lot more context - but the sentence "Help yourself to the chow" = "help yourself to some food".

"Help yourself" means to go ahead and take what you want. No one will be serving it to you, you have to go and get it. But they are welcoming you to take as much as you'd like.
