Default conditional

If I start my sentnece as follows, do I have to use cosistant conditional forms? For example,

If I could meet anyone in history, I would like to meet XXX. I would like to ( or want to ..) ask him several questions about( or on???) how to win battles. I wan to ( or would like to ) be a good soldier like him.

All sentences below are correct:
If I could meet anyone in history, I would like to meet XXX.
or
If I could meet anyone in history, it would be XXX.

I would ask him several questions about how to win battles.

I would like to be a good soldier like him.
or
I want to be a good soldier like him.
