Default How to ask people to meet them

Hi,
Could anyone tell me how to ask people politely to meet them. I am a university student and I don't know how to ask and offer a time to meet people to meet them.

Thank you

[NOT A TEACHER]

Please, John, let me introduce you to Linda.
Linda, meet John, a friend from College.

Paul, this is Tifany.
Tifany, this is Paul.

That's the way how I'd make friends meet each other.

Please, teachers, suggestions? Could you correct my text and my friend's?
Thank you.

Have you got any plans for tomorrow evening / next Thursday?

Shall we do something together this / tomorrow evening?

Only a few suggestions.

Rather depends if this is for tutors and such, or possible friends.

If the former, then something like:

Mr/Dr./Prof xxx, it would really help me if we can meet and discuss my essay/my future plans/the research project. Would you like to suggest a good day and time for us to meet?

You indicate a purpose that is beneficial, and politely give the other person the right to select a suitable appointment date.

If the latter, then Snowcake's suggestions are a good guide. It will rather depend on whether the person is male or female. You need to be more polite to girls!

Hi Anglika

Thank you very much for your help. Do you know any book or website that I can use to improve my writing (essays and letter)?

Thank you

Do you mean how do you introduce yourself in order to meet others?

How about:

Hello, my name is John Smith. I go to school here.
I'd like to meet you. What is your name?

You're welcome.

We can help you with your writing and letters, if you post them on the forums for Editing and Writing and for Letter Writing.

It is your efforts that will improve your writing! Have a look at all this site can offer - the resources and reference sections in particular may help you.
