Can I have your comments on the following sentences?

Edison is the greatest inventor of his time. He lived in a poor environment but I wonder what made him a great inventor. If I could learn his mind, I think I could live a good life.

Edison came from a good middle class background, and was born into a literate and supportive family. Nothing poor about it.
