passion fruit
I wouldn't be a good spokesperson for passion fruit.
I was asked to describe it to someone who's never had one today....and I did it miserably. If you have tasted a great passion fruit before I wonder if you can help me. I was especially weak in describing the texture of it, using "slimey" which is a very wrong choice of words judging from the person's reaction. Also, what should I have used in place of "pungent" for the strong, sweet aroma of the fruit?
I welcome and appreciate all descriptions that fit passion fruit.
Many thanks

Re: passion fruit
Here is an "official" description:
Fruit: The nearly round or ovoid fruit, 1-1/2 to 3 inches wide, has a tough rind that is smooth and waxy and ranging in hue from dark purple with faint, fine white specks, to light yellow or pumpkin-color. Within is a cavity more or less filled with an aromatic mass of double walled, membranous sacs containing orange-colored, pulpy juice and as many as 250 small, hard, dark brown or black, pitted seeds. The unique flavor is appealing, musky, guava-like and sweet/tart to tart.

Fantastic! I've got the whole pie.
Thanks Angelika.
