Default position of adverbials

-Do you drive your car often?
1-No, by car I only go to work.

-How did you get to Lyon?
2-By train we went to Paris and then by car we went to Lyon.


Are sentence 1 and 2 acceptable?

I generally place the adverbs at the end, but I wanted to see if these worked.

I'm not a teacher. You could say that if you want to emphasise the vehicles.

The first one doesn't work at all.

The second one sounds highly unnatural.

I am not a teacher, but i reckon the following sentence works:
only by car do i go to work
