To be off one's face

Hi there,

I'd like to know if "to be off one's face' means "to lose one's face".

I'm not a teacher, but "to lose face" means to suffer damage to one's honour or reputation, one's standing and good name. "To be off one's face" means to extremely or totally drunk, to an unpleasant degree.

Neither can I. The mere smell of alcohol induces nausea in me, and any attempt to consume it causes me to vomit.
