Hi, iass1378!
Welcome to the forum!
Please give us a little more context! Where did you hear the expression "Earth to America"? What was the context?

Cheers,
Amigo

I saw that expression in a book ("Earth to Baker!), and in a title of UCC (earth to America), and some blog (their name are "earth to David", "earth to Luisa" etc.)

how about this one;
David was next to giddy about the group all being in touch with each other via phone."
(Context: The system had been out of order so they couldn't have used their phone. At last the system became normal situation. )
-What does David was next ti Giddy means?

#1 "Earth to xxx" carries the connotation: "Get real - pay attention to what the rest of the world thinks/wants".

#2 He was really excited that things are back to normal - it is making his head spin. Very colloquial.
