I'd like to know if we can use both 'examine' and 'check' with the noun 'ticket' and if so, is there any difference between them?

An usher would "check" the ticket to make sure it is valid. That would allow the person into the theater.

A person would examine his own ticket to find some information on the ticket. Perhaps he is looking for a number or code on the ticket so he could get a prize.
