Default transitive verbs

explain and discuss are monotransitive verbs right?

Explain can either be mono- or ditransitive.

Can you explain this to us? (direct and indirect object = ditransitive)

How do you explain her strange attitude? (direct object = monotransitive)

I suppose 'discuss' is monotransitive. As I'm not sure, we'd better wait for a teacher's explanation.
