I was told that -ly words should not be hyphenated, as in legally blond or superbly bad. But I get to see many writing otherwise.

How valid is saying "George Clooney has some vaguely-interesting answers"?

Why would I hyphenate 'very-interesting questions'???

'vaguely' is the adverb, modifying the adjective 'interesting'. It's "sloppy" to hyphenate them because it's incorrect to do so!
