hey_friends is an unknown quantity at this point

Nicole: i not sure. he rang me saying that.

saying here is a gerund or a continious tense?

He rang me saying that = is an action. So it is a participle.

It sounds odd to me to use "Do" for this "one time action". The present simple is used for habitual/routine events.

Nicole: Have you heard Kevin will come here this weekend?
