What's the correct position for "yet" and when can I use it?

I took the quiz this web site offers about yet/already and it wasn't good.
Because I thought "yet" went at the beginning or the end.

Generally, we use "yet" in negative sentences and questions.

I haven't spoken to her yet.=negative sentence
He hasn't finished yet.=negative sentence
has he finished yet?=guestion.

Use of "yet" is yet more complex than my 3 examples.
